Our Garden Department!

We want to say Thanks to our garden department for their great job in maintaining our Resort and Reserve here at Arenas del Mar!  They are always cleaning the trails and gardens, planting native trees and recycling the different materials like plastic, glass, boxes, cans, and other materials. Additionally, this is the department that is the responsible for creating the ¨organic compost¨ which is a very interesting process.

To make the compost, they first take a good quantity of soil and then mix it with some ¨organic trash¨ like banana peels, rice, mango, different fruits (not citric), and keep mixing that for 12 days.  Then, they add worms to the soil, and the worms will start to eat that mixed soil and their excrement is the best fertilizer in the world!  It is excellent for plantations as well as your garden at home!  We use the compost for the gardens of the hotel, keeping the plants always healthy and happy!!!

So, thanks again to this Department, for keeping the areas around the Resort looking beautiful…
