During a bird watching tour this week in the reserve of Arenas Del Mar, we saw many tanagers and warblers. But then, we came upon the Double Toothed Kite (Harpagus bidentatus)! We could see two of them, mating and breaking pieces of branches to build a nest. They normally choose the big trees to make a nest on the branches. The double tooth kite´s size is around 14 inches, and normally flies above the canopy of the forest looking for little reptiles and invertebrates. This bird also sometimes follows troops of white face monkeys and squirrel monkeys, because they are moving branches and the kite then takes advantage, catching the lizards and insects that are escaping from the monkeys. This is a spectacular bird; a great hunter of the Central Pacific forest.

It sounds very adventurous and fun among the nature. Though I have never been to this place but I seem to plan a vacation here. It was helpful in my planning.
