In the bird watching tour one recent morning we were so lucky to see the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher (tyrannus forficatus). A bird that likes to visit Costa Rica, this individual stayed in the reserve of Arenas Del Mar and flew at least 3000 kilometers to arrive here. It is a migratory bird that comes from the south of Canada all the way down to the pacific of Costa Rica. It visits the country from October until April just to escape from the cold winter in North America. We were watching several birds around the reserve and suddenly it perched in the top of one branch in front of us, as if saying hello, so we could appreciate its beauty and the long tail, then get nice pictures for some seconds before it left. For us it was very special because it is unusual to see it.
